The RM-BE1 is a Bluetooth® 5.0 Low-Energy module fully compliant with 2Mbit High-Throughput (HT) and Long Range extensions.
RM-BE1 is based on Renesas energy-efficient RE01B wireless MCU, featuring an Arm® Cortex®-M0+ core. Developed using Renesas’ breakthrough SOTB™ (Silicon on Thin Buried Oxide) process technology, the new Bluetooth-capable RE01B MCU is ideal for energy harvesting systems and intelligent IoT devices that need to operate constantly at extremely low power levels without the need to replace or recharge batteries. Leveraing on the RE01B MCU, RM-BE1 module is capable of ultra-low current consumption in both active and standby mode and high speed CPU operation (64MHz) at low voltage (1.62V).
Applications include compact healthcare devices such as pulse oximeters and biomedical sensor patches, remote controls with voice recognition capabilities and smart meter modules. In addition, the RE01B is well suited for IoT devices that require constant operation, period data collection and updates, such as devices for monitoring the elderly, children or assets in transit.
The RM-BE1-DVK kit simplifies the evaluation of RM-BE1 BLE module with energy harvesting capabilities. The development board, featuring RF module and several on-board sensors (T / H / light / accelerometer / microphone), is a user-friendly environment for easily design and test your next ultra-low-power maitenance-free Bluetooth application.
