IoT applications up and running quickly
ARIS is a ready-to-use Internet of Things (IoT) hardware and software platform that enables users to get their IoT applications up and running quickly, leveraging on the Renesas Synergy™ development framework. It encourages innovation and product differentiation while enabling developers to reduce time-to-market and decreases the total cost of ownership of a product over its lifetime.
The ARIS IoT Board is based around the Renesas Synergy S7 MCU with 240 MHz ARM Cortex-M4 core, which has a host of features that equip it for IoT operation.
With Bluetooth Low Energy 4.2 (all ARIS IoT variants), Thread/ZigBee (supported by ARIS Gateway only), Wi-Fi b/g/n, and Ethernet 10/100 port, the ARIS IoT Board can communicate with other devices and the cloud. An NFC tag functionality is also included along with a crypto bootloader and support for over-the-air (OTA) firmware updates.
Board sensing capabilities include motion detection (with a 3-axes accelerometer and 2-axes gyroscope), environmental temperature, and humidity sampling.
User interaction is based on LEDs, pushbuttons, and support for TFT screen (option for I²C resistive touchscreen available).
Additional functions such as the on-board J-Link debugger, support for crypto bootloaders, and over-the-air (OTA) firmware updates make the development process easier, quicker, and more reliable.
